Song History and Tune
This song was written specifically to the tune of "The Ash Grove". I wrote a cute contrapuntal harp accompaniment to it which just serves to make the lyrics more hysterical.
They're cute and they're small
They have vital information
Which you need for your meeting
At quarter past three.
But you are in a panic
With just one burning question
Oh where and oh where
Can my thumb drive be?
You've emptied yuour cubicle
And upended your briefcase
And now you remember
With stark clarity
That your poor little thumb drive
Forlorn and so lonely
Is neatly plugged in
To your home PC.
Oh where is my thumb drive?
I own at least three drives
I only need one drive
To copy these files!
512 meg or 1 gig
Or 8 gig will do
I don't need very much space
For these fourteen small files.
I've found my smallest thumb drive
I've downloaded the data
I'm ready to copy
To my friend's PC
But I have discovered
A fact quite dismaying
Her ancient computer
Has no USB!
Alternate verse for the iPad
Oh where is my thumb drive
I own at least ten drives
I only need one drive
To copy these files
512 meg or 1 gig
Or 8 gig will do
I don't need very much space
For these fourteen small files.
I've found my smallest thumb drive
And copied my photos
To show on Mother's iPad
With its marvelous screen
But I have discovered
A fact quite disgusting
My mom's brand-new iPad
Has no USB!
